UTERINE FIBROID EMBOLISATION

Apex Surgi Centre Soweto is thrilled to announce the establishment of the APEX FIBROID MANAGEMENT CENTRE.

We have put together an experienced team led by Interventional Radiologist – Dr Solly Ntseke to deliver on this exciting addition to the services we offer at Apex.

Dr Ntseke is a fellow of the college of radiologists (SA) with over 2 decades experience as a radiologist. His experience in Interventional Radiology and specifically Uterine fibroid embolization is extensive having trained at Chis Hani Baragwanath and Charlotte Maxeke Johanesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH). He is also a member of the South African Interventional Society (SAINTS) and the Society of African Interventional Radiology (SAFIRE).

The rest of the team consists of Gynaecologists, a radiographer and clinical staff who are there to ensure a smooth journey that culminates in the best outcome for your specific case.

The objective of the dedicated center is to be able to have a one stop facility that is equipped and staffed to handle your fibroid problems comprehensively under one roof.

So…what are fibroids?

Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that occur on the womb (uterus). They are the number one cause of abnormally heavy menstrual bleeding associated with the passage of clots and lower abdominal and back pain.
